For the Christmas season, we have unboxed some serious grails, including original works that we will be releasing for the first time. This is one of them. Pushead, Untitled (Thrasher Comics #1 Cover), 1988. This is one of the biggest grails and one of the most influential works we've ever released. Pushead (born Brian Schroeder) has been an influence in the skateboarding, punk and heavy metal cultures since the early 80s. He has produced countless works of art for seminal bands in those genres including Metallica, Misfits, Necros, and many others. His skateboard graphics for influential 80s skateboard company Zorlac are some of the most sought after artifacts in all of skateboarding culture. Original pressings of his record covers are similarly highly collectible and valuable. In more recent years, he has continued to create artwork for skateboard companies (including Jamie Thomas' Zero Skateboards), bands, toy publishers including Medicom, and collaborations with other artists such as KAWS.
This work is one of the most important pieces he has ever produced: the cover illustration for the very first Thrasher Comics #1. This piece is one of the most historically important works Beautiful Losers has every exhibited. Tons of intricate detail work - a hallmark of the artist's work. Comes with a copy of the original Thrasher Comics #1. Hard to convey what an absolute grail and piece of history that this is.
