Jason deCaires Taylor
Jason DeCaires Taylor was born in Great Britain in 1974 and is currently based in Mexico. In 1997, Taylor earned a BA in Sculpture and Ceramics from Camberwell College of Art, in London, England. He learned traditional stone carving techniques at Canterbury Cathedral, and worked in the field of concert set design. In 2006, Taylor created the world’s first underwater sculpture park in Grenada, West Indies, which is included among the top 25 wonders of the world by National Geographic. In 2010, Taylor founded the Museo Subacuático de Arte (MuSA), located in Cancún, Mexico. The artist has received a tremendous amount of press from publications such as National Geographic, Vogue, CNN, BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph and Discovery Channel. In 2014, Chronicle Books will publish the artist’s first monograph.
